LinkedIn for Small Business Owners

As a small business (SMB) ourselves, we at BadCat understand the unique challenges you face. Thankfully, LinkedIn—with more than 10 million small businesses utilizing the platform—is doing its part to help us out. Let’s review the recent changes and how utilizing their new features can help you promote your small business.
Beginning in July, LinkedIn began allowing small and midsize businesses to add their service listings to their individual profile. This means your page will be eligible to show up in search results for those services. If you do graphic design work, you’ll now be able to list that in your services. People searching for graphic designers will now be much more likely to find you. Getting profile pages to show up in search results adds valuable exposure for the business. This is especially helpful for SMBs who either don’t have the time or the resources to cultivate a strong social media presence utilizing other platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The process of adding your services is as simple as clicking “Add Services” under your profile photo and headline.
If you haven’t seen this feature yet, not to worry. Small business leaders and freelancers with a Premium Business subscription will see this feature first. Other SMBs will see it in the fall. If you’d like to see it sooner, you can request to be placed on a waiting list to use the new feature.
