Cassidy is one of our copywriters on staff at BadCat Digital. She’s been with us nearly a year, and specializes in content creation and acting sassy. She’s usually upstairs hiding behind her keyboard and jamming out to her latest favorite band. Learn a little bit about her below!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Browerville, MN. Population: 755
Where did you attend school?
I attended Browerville High School, then headed off to St. Cloud State University upon graduation. I earned two bachelor’s degrees—creative writing and psychology. So, I’m probably psychoanalyzing you, and I’m probably writing about it too.
What are some of your past employment experiences?
I began freelance writing when I was in college. Golf, cars, decorating, food, college resources, profiles, healthy eating, exercise, reviews—you name it, I wrote about it. I worked as a writing tutor at St. Cloud State University, which helped me figure out how much I love editing and turning a few words on the page into something beautiful. Once I graduated college, I moved to Pittsburgh, PA and began working for a company that had a publishing division. I quickly moved up the ladder and became the head of the publishing division. Every day, I got to edit books and prepare them for publication, write blogs, manage social media, and run a team of ghostwriters. It was pretty great.
Who’s your favorite BadCat and why?
Garfield. A love that strong for lasagna and naps is downright admirable.
What’s your favorite book?
This is the most difficult question I’ve ever had to answer, and I’m being entirely serious. Not only am I terrible at picking a favorite anything, I’m a true bibliophile and constantly have a new book by my side. So, in no particular order, I’ll name my current top three: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware, and The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager. I’m a sucker for an atmospheric thriller or a book with some mystery that ends in an unexpected twist.

When you’re not at BadCat, what can you be found doing?
Reading, of course! When I don’t have my eyeballs glued to the page, I’m probably researching new book releases or outlining the book I promise I will finish writing one day. I love baking and experimenting in the kitchen—my latest endeavors are plant-based cooking and brewing my own kombucha. I’m also big into yoga, traveling, rock music, and drinking coffee.
Like what you read? BadCat is even better in person.
